This just came in the Just Golden mail bag

I had to share...

Fifteen reasons why men have 2 dogs and not 2 wives:

1. The later you are, the more excited your dogs are to see you.

2. Dogs don't notice if you call them by another dog's name.

3. Dogs like it if you leave a lot of things on the floor.

4. A dog's parents never visit.

5. Dogs agree that you have to raise your voice to get your point across.

6. Dogs like to do their snooping outside rather than in your wallet or desk.

7. You never have to wait for a dog; they're ready to go 24 hours a day.

8. Dogs find you amusing when you're drunk.

9. Dogs like to go hunting and fishing.

10. A dog will not wake you up at night to ask, 'If I died, would you get another dog?'

11. If a dog has babies, you can put an ad in the paper and give them away.

12. A dog will let you put a studded collar on it without calling you a pervert.

13. If a dog smells another dog on you, they don't get mad. They just think it's interesting.

14. Dogs like to ride in the back of a pickup truck.

And last, but not least:

15. If a dog leaves, it won't take half of your stuff

Thanks, Buttheads!

Hi Adam,

Beware of long ass comment to begin…now.

Much like everyone else here, I am now completely head-over-heels in love with Molly and Tess-a-Mess. I send them many kisses and lots of love.

You know how it goes here in Blogistan. One minute I’m reading Mental Poo’s blog and I click on Laura in the comments. So then I’m browsing Laura’s blog and I click Mindy in the comments. So then I’m catching up on the adventures of Sadie & the gang and then I’ve gone and clicked on “Adam” in Mindy’s comments.

I wonder to myself, who is this Adam? From whence does he hail? Oh, look, he’s got Goldens in his Flickr account too!!! I’m starting to like him already. Aw hell, I’ve got no time to waste, why not check it out?!

Before I know it, I’m lost in Golden Land reading through your blog about the adventures of Molly and Tess-a-Mess from Texas (hey, did I just make that rhyme?). Oh, and one melon headed nephew named Jackson. Let’s not forget about him. (I very much prefer dogs to children, but your nephew is awful squishable and CUTE. I too had a very large head as a baby. Still do as an adult, proven by the fact that only men’s hats fit my planetary head. I now feel a certain planetary kinship with Jackson.)

GREAT blog and GREAT posts about your girls. If and when their daddy says they can have boys as friends, well, I’ve got two very handsome Golden gentlemen for your consideration right here in sunny San Diego. Achilles and Milo would be honored to host a couple of pretty girls from the only state in the union that insists on having its very own navy for its 12 miles (I think?) of coastline. (Sorry, couldn’t help myself. Texans always make me smile!)

Anyway, we adopted our boys from a rescue last year. This February 9th will be their 6 months anniversary with us. Achilles is 13 ½ years old but has the spirit of a puppy, and goofy Milo bear is 8 or 9 years old (we think).

In fact, Achilles and Milo would like to enter their names into your nationwide campaign as Golden candidates from the Golden state itself. They already know who they’d like to have in their cabinet: Wrigley, Bacchus, and Dolce, their Golden pals. If there is room for a secretary, they’d like to have their big feathered brother, Captain Morgan, considered for the position.

Achilles & Milo would also like to nominate pretty Sadie (Mindy’s gal) for the breathtaking state of Kentucky and Buster (Chi-town’s boy) for the flatlands of Illinois. Finally, they figure if you’re considering Captain Morgan, maybe you’ll have some honorary positions for all the kitty pals throughout Blogistan. They’re all rather smart cookies who actually taste like chicken. If they’re not already spoken for, that should take care of nominees for California, Illinois and Kentucky.

Reading your thoughts on hippies, illegal immigration, various elected officials, and nagging tree huggers from Oregon, etc…, I couldn’t help but laugh out LOUD because you reminded of my very own Edward a.ka. Belov-Ed. You two may have been separated at birth from the same Red state hospital! I wish I’d known about your blog in the ’06 elections when Congress shifted left…I was not allowed to partake in any celebratory dancing that evening.

You see, he is an ardent conservative after your very own heart who will begin a matrimonial union with a liberal feminist hailing from Kabul by way of Chicago. That would be yours truly, ME. D-Day is 08-08-08.

Although we couldn’t be more opposite in our political, governmental, fiscal, religious, and social beliefs (sometimes I think we’d be millionaires if we sold ringside tickets to our “discussions”), I can’t imagine being any happier.

So, not only will I add your blog to my reading list because I want to fawn over gorgeous Molly & Tess, but also because you remind me of Belov-Ed and maybe, just maybe, it’s possible you’ll encounter a similar fate with one of your liberal neighbors and I’ll be able to sit here ringside with a cold beer in a frozen mug enjoying the “discussions”. Yee haw!

The only difference being that you'll know what she means if she asks if you'd "pick out rice from her hair". You're a fan of REK and so am I, something Belov-Ed still can't come to terms with...how a liberal Afghani chick from urban Chi-town is into country music. Go figure. Do you like any Steve Earle?

Anyway, sorry for the long ass comment. I’m glad to have made your blog-acquaintance and look forward to good times and great reading.
